Make a little plan ↗

Plan with your own numbers.

Use your own measurements, records and costs. Results are worksheets and calculations, not product tests or quotes. Interactive inputs require JavaScript; the reference worksheets below remain readable and printable without it.

Shelf storage planner

Enter the usable shelf space and the outside dimensions of one container. Values below are illustrative examples.

No rotation or stacking. This calculation does not assess strength, access, stability or product safety.

Organization cost planner

Use your own prices in US dollars. These example inputs are not retailer offers.

Tax is estimated on items only. Contingency applies to items, estimated tax and shipping. Check the final checkout amount with the retailer.

Total ownership cost

Add one initial amount to a fixed monthly amount over a whole number of months. Inputs are hypothetical US-dollar planning values.

Formula: initial cost + monthly cost × months. Maximum inputs are $1,000,000 and 10,000 months. Financing, inflation, repairs and resale value are excluded unless you add them to your own scenario.

Cost per use

Divide one hypothetical US-dollar cost by a positive whole-number use count. Define what one use means before comparing results.

Formula: cost ÷ uses. Maximum inputs are $1,000,000 and 100,000 uses. This ratio does not measure durability, performance or satisfaction.

Paper worksheet reference

Shelf count uses whole containers and your clearances. Project budget sums item quantities and prices, shipping, tax and contingency. Ownership cost = upfront cost + monthly cost × months. Cost per use = cost ÷ positive uses. Use one measurement unit consistently.
